Successful Grant Writing Wins $1 Million for Climate Adaptation

Written Progress' proposal and grant writing process landed more than US$ 1 million to support small farmer climate adaptation in eastern Africa!

Isabelle Le Marois developed this ambitious project proposal on behalf of our longtime partner, the Alliance of Bioversity and CIAT, to secure funding from the Global Environmental Facility.

Here's how we did it:

  • Conduct public and private sector stakeholder interviews.
  • Gain a deep understanding of key constraints and leverage points.
  • Develop a challenge statement, theory of change, and monitoring and reporting framework.
  • Ensure absolute compliance with word limit, formatting, and submission requirements.

We are extraordinarily proud to have, in one small way, contributed to bringing information and finance services to Ugandan and Zambian farmers. The Alliance's work will go beyond climate change adaption to more generally support improved quality of life and food security in the region. A huge congrats to our Alliance colleagues!

This proposal is not publicly available, but you can read more about our proposal development process here.
