Our PORTFOLIO

Our long-time partner the Alliance of Bioversity and CIAT approached Scriptoria Solutions for support in developing an ambitious project proposal to secure funding from the Global Environmental Facility. Their project aims to increase agricultural resilience in East Africa by providing small farmers with greater access to agricultural finance,  insurance products, and climate risk management resources.

Our grant and proposal expert Isabelle Le Marois worked tirelessly with the CIAT team to develop a comprehensive and rigorous proposal. This included conducting interviews with stakeholders in the public and private sectors to gain a deeper understanding of key constraints and leverage points and developing elements such as a challenge statement, theory of change, and monitoring and reporting framework. In addition to being the formal request for funding, the final proposal will also serve as the guiding framework for the project's implementation by the Alliance team and their partnering practitioners.

It was an honor for Scriptoria Solutions to work with CIAT once again. We anxiously await the results from GEF!

Green River sought Scriptoria Solutions support in making the case for participatory software design to the Delaware Department of Health.  Participatory design engages community members in the development of technological solutions that will be used in the community, thus ensuring that the software meets, understands, and even anticipates their needs. Scriptoria Solutions was tasked with producing a memo that clearly outlines the benefits of participatory methodology.

The final memo is an effective tool in making the case for participatory design, presenting a concise yet convincing outline of the background and reasoning behind this approach in easy-to-understand language. The document includes an explanation of what participatory design is, what it is not, and the steps for implementation. With this memo in hand, Green River can make a strong case for participatory design and develop software that truly serves the needs of their communities. The file isn't public, but we're looking forward to seeing its impacts on the Department of Health's approach to work. Watch here for more updates!

Green River once again sought Scriptoria Solutions' support in developing a white paper. This time, it is on their novel approach, called Population Lattice Methodology, for improving the accuracy of public health heat mapping while also protecting individuals' anonymity under HIPAA federal health regulation.

Under the leadership of Katiana Bougouma, the Scriptoria Solutions team worked with Green River to craft a document that demonstrates the robustness and complexity of the approach without overwhelming the reader with jargon or dry methodology. The final product allows Green River to offer new users a clear understanding of their approach and its potential applications, including better informing communities on public health crises and support public health professionals' decision making for more efficient and effective public health campaigns. We'll post the white paper here -- and watch for the briefs and academic manuscripts that Scriptoria Solutions will also be producing on Green River's amazing new methodology!

Your team rocks!

The Alliance of Bioversity and CIAT once again recruited Scriptoria Solutions to conduct an on-site writeshop -- this time with the Tropical Forages research team.

Megan Mayzelle and Katiana Bougouma traveled to Kenya to facilitate an intensive 4-day writeshop for Tropical Forages Kenya. This is a small team of accomplished scientists in agriculture, climate, and community development throughout the world who have converged over the passion for sustainable animal production systems and climate resiliency. Through the writeshop, Scriptoria Solutions supported the team in identifying their target academic journals, developing a detailed publication plan, employing language that compels their target audience, applying practical writing methods to reduce drafting and revision effort, advancing their current drafts as a team. At the end of the writeshop, the team had at least 10 advancing drafts, several new outlines, and a month-by-month plan for each team member to see those publications through to conclusion.

The Scriptoria Solutions team is continuing to work alongside the Tropical Forages group to build a communication strategy for the work going forward. More to come soon!

"Inspiring guidance. The whole team thoroughly enjoyed and learned a lot."

Rosenstock & Wilkes had an important point to make, and they requested Scriptoria Solution’s support in preparing an academic journal article manuscript that would catch the attention of the editors at Nature Climate Change.

Megan Mayzelle and the Scriptoria Solutions team work intensively with the authors in iteratively wordsmithing their draft to explain a complex concept in a clear, compelling way that spoke to the scope of the Nature Climate Change journal and fit its formatting and length requirements.

After weeks of careful work, the editors of Nature Climate Change accepted the manuscript without comment or revision—a true rarity in the academic journal world and a first for these widely published authors. See the full article here.

In my 20-year career, I have never received such positive reviews. The intense, iterative word smithing that Megan brought to this collaboration helped the research to shine through with crystal clarity.

Nature Sustainability has requested revisions to improve the readability of Rosenstock & Wilkes’ recent academic journal article submission. The manuscript shares important findings regarding the identification of priority geographies for livestock system climate resiliency investments across 132 countries.

Lindsay Hartley-Backhouse and the Scriptoria Solutions team carefully combed and clarified the text to optimize it for the discerning readers of Nature Sustainability. We’ll share the published article here as soon as it becomes available!

Green River, a social enterprise that leverages software to tackle wicked social issues, contacted Scriptoria Solutions for support in building awareness of their new Pathway to Employment for Every Working Vermonter (PEEWV) project.

The PEEWV project, recently funded by the United States Senate, leverages AI solutions to connect jobseekers to education and career opportunities, as well as bolster small businesses’ Human Resources capacity.

The Scriptoria Solutions team, led by Isabelle Le Marois, developed several versions of an article showcasing the importance within the context of labor shortages and immigration. Each version was tailored to a specific audience, including national and local news outlets and followers of Green River on LinkedIn. We’ll be sharing the published version here soon!

Green River has developed an exciting and novel software solution for improved privacy protection of public health information.

Green River requested Scriptoria Solutions' help in developing a white paper that would demonstrate the relevance and importance of the complex new technology to key stakeholders in a way that is rigorously accurate while still remaining approachable for non-expert audiences.

Our team, led by epidemiologist Katiana Bougouma, worked intensively with the Green River team to carefully develop, research, and craft the white paper. The final document outlines the software’s functioning in easy-to-understand terminology and includes multiple compelling use cases at the state, regional, and national levels.

The white paper has proven such a success that the Green River and Scriptoria Solutions teams are now continuing their collaboration to create a brief and an academic manuscript on the same topic! The final white paper is now publicly available here.

In my 20-year career, I have never received such positive reviews. The intense, iterative word smithing that Megan brought to this collaboration helped the research to shine through with crystal clarity.

The Carbon Business Council reached out to Scriptoria Solutions to copyedit their debut white paper, Unlocking Carbon Dioxide Removal with Voluntary Carbon Markets: Recommendations to Expedite Climate Solutions.

Lindsay Hartley-Backhouse and the Scriptoria Solutions team conducted two rounds of in-depth copyediting on the piece, working carefully to ensure that sensitive policy and legal terminology was not unintentionally altered.

The white paper offers seven actionable recommendations for improving existing policy and approaches in order to maximize the potential impacts of carbon dioxide removal efforts on climate change, particularly through the lens of voluntary carbon markets.

The paper was released on 20 September 2022 as part of Climate Week 2022 in New York City and is available here or on the Carbon Business Council website.

Great eyes on the white paper to improve quality and distill the key messages.
