Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) 

 

When is it due? Applications are accepted on a continuous basis. 

How much? Varies based on conservation practices, with annual payments starting at a minimum of $4,000. 

Who funds it? Natural Resources Conservation Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture 

Who’s eligible? For-profit agricultural legal entities managing land for agricultural or forest production. 

What does it fund? CSP funds technical and financial assistance for agricultural and forest producers to enhance conservation practices on their land, focusing on soil health, water quality, wildlife habitat improvement, and increased climate resilience through sustainable land management practices.

Community Power Accelerator Round 3 

 

When is it due? December 17, 2024 

How much? Up to $400,000 

Who funds it? U.S. Department of Energy 

Who’s eligible? For-profit solar developers and co-developers 

What does it fund? It funds the development and financing of distributed solar projects like community solar, microgrids, and DERs. Support includes financial assistance, training, consulting, and tools to help developers expand solar access, especially in low-income and disadvantaged communities, fostering equitable and resilient clean energy solutions.

Environmental Sustainability of a Clean Energy Transition (Enviro-SET) 

 

When is it due? November 8, 2024 

How much? Up to $700,000 

Who funds it? California Energy Commission (CEC) 

Who’s eligible? For-profit companies 

What does it fund? This grant funds applied research and development projects to support California’s transition to a zero-carbon energy system. It focuses on monitoring solar energy footprints, assessing environmental impacts of clean energy, testing bird-friendly windows for decarbonized buildings, and identifying biologically appropriate exterior lighting to meet environmental goals.

Citizen Science for Improved Stock Assessments and Climate-Ready Fisheries Management 

 

When is it due? November 4, 2024 

How much? Up to $200,000 

Who funds it? Department of Commerce 

Who’s eligible? For-profit organizations 

What does it fund? The grant supports citizen science projects aimed at improving federal fishery stock assessments and advancing climate-ready fisheries management. Priority is given to projects that provide data for stock assessments and increase understanding of climate change impacts on fish stocks and fishing communities.

Neotropical Migratory Bird Conservation Act Grants

How much? Up to $250,000 

Who funds it? Fish and Wildlife Service, Department of the Interior 

Who’s eligible? Small businesses 

What does it fund? The grant supports the conservation of Neotropical migratory birds and their habitats, promoting partnership-based conservation efforts, protecting habitats, supporting bird conservation activities, and building capacity in local organizations.

Understanding and Assessing drought in a Changing Climate (NIDIS) 

 

When is it due? December 9, 2024 

How much? $250,000 – $500,000 

Who funds it? Department of Commerce 

Who’s eligible? Commercial organizations 

What does it fund? The Program funds research focused on improving drought indicators and assessments to better account for climate change impacts, with the goal of enhancing drought preparedness, mitigation, and response strategies.
